I studied Applied Computer Science at the University of Würzburg and joined Würth Industrie Service for an internship in October 2019. Since 2020, I have a permanent position here as a software developer. My degree course gave me the technical foundation – at Würth Industrie Service, I could build real solutions by putting my knowledge into practice.
From the very beginning, my interest was not only in coding, but also in innovation: trying out new technologies, connecting software with hardware and designing things from the ground up.
My focus is on multi-platform app development. I develop applications that run on different operating systems – Android, iOS and Windows – and adapt to the respective environments. Some examples are the Würth scanner app and terminal apps that are live and active in use in Logistics.
I find the interaction between software and hardware especially interesting – like in the collaborative robots or the access systems. When you press a button and it sets something in motion right in front of you, it is much more than just UI to me.
Our team works on topics that require a prototype quickly. Ideas come from the market and are assessed, tested and developed further together. Depending on the task, we work closely with Business Innovation, KMS, hardware teams or external partners.
What I appreciate: the high degree of freedom to test new technologies and the open collaboration to find solutions together rather than having lengthy discussions.
A defining project for me was the development of an access-based package recognition system without master data – a true prototype with a lot of trial and error. These are the projects that define the job for me: challenging, creative and with visible results.
