.NET Developer – Logistics, Specialist | Testimonial by Christian
“I look at the processes not only from the IT perspective, but also from the user perspective.”
My journey at Würth Industrie Service began in 2008 with a dual study programme in Business Informatics. It was evident early on: Not only the programming, but also the big picture – the processes behind it – were immensely interesting to me. I was already working in the division responsible for the development of our own inventory management system during my studies. Even today, I work here as a software developer and have guided our apprentices and dual students in the team for more than ten years. In 2018, I pursued the specialist career path and am now working as a specialist for innovative processes and technologies in KMS environment since 2020.
Our ERP system is the linchpin of the logistics processes in Bad Mergentheim – from warehouse management and conveyor system to Kanban management. My task is to integrate new requirements and technology in such a way that they complement the goods flow and also make them sustainable. I work closely with Consulting to ensure that the processes interconnect and are logical and efficient for the user.
As a specialist, my task is not only implementation, but also recognising potential: Which technologies can we use to optimise processes? How can innovative approaches like predictive analytics or artificial intelligence be integrated into KMS? These questions keep me going.
We are a team that develops solutions together – and that makes a difference. Everyone brings in their expertise, and we discuss ideas and implement them. Even the cooperation with apprentices and dual students is important for me, as it allows us totransfer knowledge, implement projects and include new impulses.
Our team spirit sets us apart. We help each other and work in tandem. It creates trust and makes the work special.
A project that is close to my heart is the implementation of predictive analysis in KMS. Together with an external consulting company and a dual student, we developed a prototype that predicts the replenishment of Kanban bins. Today the solution is working live in the system – a true added value for Logistics.
Equally unforgettable: the co-development of our first rapid picking robots. I spent multiple weeks directly in the logistics department sitting on a workbench to observe how the programmed content works in reality. You lose track of time as you see ideas becoming reality.
Christian brings not only code into the system, but also ideas into reality. With a keen eye for the processes, technological foresight and passion for innovation, he develops solutions that keep Logistics moving sustainably and tangibly.
